10 Secrets You Didn’t Know About Shopping at Target

Target is a great place to shop and save, but it’s very likely that you’re missing out on all of the savings opportunities that Target has to offer. Take a look at some Target secrets that may blow your mind:

1. There’s a Schedule for When Target Marks Down It’s Prices

And here it is:
Monday: kids’ clothing, electronics, accessories, books, baby items and stationary

Tuesday: women’s clothing, pets, domestics, and market food items

Wednesday: health and beauty, diapers, lawn/garden items, men’s clothing and furniture

Thursday: housewares, shoes, lingerie, toys, sporting goods, decor and luggage

Friday: cosmetics, auto, hardware and jewelry

2. The Price Tag Tells You How Much the Markdown Is

The lower left of the clearance tag shows the original price while the small numbers in the upper right hand corner tell you the percentage taken off for the markdown.

3. If the Price Tag Ends in $0.06 or $0.08, There Will Be Another Markdown

As long as there is inventory left, these items will remain on clearance for about two weeks and will be marked down further.

4. You Can Return Purchases by Mail for Free

All you have to do is go to the online return center and print out a prepaid return label. Then Target will pay for the return shipping fees.

5. They’ve Got a Sweet Price Matching Policy

If you find an item in a competitor’s ad, bring it in to Target and they’ll match the advertised price.

6. Target Has Mobile Coupons Sent to Your Phone

You don’t have to clip coupons for Target – they can be sent directly to your phone and used without having to print. Just sign up here.

7. You Can Also Get Coupons Through the App

The free Target app gets 10 or more new coupons per week, so just check out your app before or during shopping. Then hand your phone to the cashier to reap the savings.

8. Request a Raincheck

If there’s an item on sale that you want but it ran out, you can simply request a rain check from Guest Services. Then whenever the item is restocked, you can purchase it at the sale price.
